Hello, JP. Here's your Morning Memo for Wednesday, May 7.

Historical Society Walking Tours Resume: If you've never taken one of the JP Historical Society's walking tours of JP's various sub-neighborhoods, I highly recommend them. This year's series begins on Saturday with a tour of the Monument Square area. Free. 11 a.m. Saturday. Meet at the Loring-Greenough House to begin the walking tour. Here's the entire list of this season's tours.

Lilac Sunday: You all remembered it's Mother's Day on Sunday, right? Oh, you forgot? Well there's still time to get a picnic together and take Mom to Lilac Sunday at the Arboretum. If you've never gone, here's what you need to know. Runs 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday.

Betsaida Gutiérrez Honored By City Council: Doña Betsaida already has a building named after her in Hyde Square, but on Wednesday the neighborhood's best-known advocate for affordable housing will be honored in a City Council resolution. City Councilor Matt O'Malley sponsored the resolution. Here's a bit of video of her discussing the "State of JP" from a February forum.

Have a great day, JP!
