An early-morning shooting Friday left one man with wounds he's expected to survive.

The shooting took place at Washington and Beethoven, according to NECN.

The victim suffered life-threatening injuries and is in serious condition, but is expected to live, Boston Police Spokesperson Officer Neva Coakley said. The shooting took place about 2:50 a.m., she said.

NECN reports that police have identified a suspect. But Coakley said reports do not confirm that.

This marks the fourth shooting in the area this summer. Police and politicians addressed the violence in a July community meeting called by JP's district city councilor, Matt O'Malley.
