Jamaica Plain residents have a new option as of Monday for getting their driver's licenses renewed. The newest RMV branch opened on the Orange Line, right beside Haymarket Station.
JP residents already have good access to the RMV branch in Roslindale Square at 4210 Washington St. But the new location on the Orange Line has the added benefit of also having an EZ-Pass service center, something the Rozzie RMV lacks.
The Haymarket branch at 136 Blackstone St. replaces the busy Chinatown branch, which transportation officials shuttered on Friday.
Let's hope the updated design delivers on its promises to move customers more efficiently. After all, for JP residents the new branch is three stops farther away on the Orange Line than the old one.
