Good morning, neighbors. Here's your Morning Memo for all things JP for Tuesday, Oct. 14.

Trash Collection: Because of Columbus Day, the city's trash and recycling pickups will be delayed by one day.

City Picks Up Leaves and Yard Waste Next Seven Weeks: The city is also picking up leaf bags and yard waste. Make sure your items are on the curb by 7 a.m. on your trash pickup day. The leaf and yard waste pickups continue each week from now through Nov. 29. You probably know the drill by now, but if not, here's the city's page on how to pack up your leaves and sticks.

Lantern-Making Workshops: 'Tis the season for getting your lanterns ready for the Lantern Parade around Jamaica Pond. This year's parade is Saturday and Sunday, each night starting at 6 p.m. Spontaneous Celebrations has a list of lantern-making workshops. They include one on Tuesday at 4 p.m. at the Egleston Branch Library. Ready-made lanterns are also for sale at City Feed and Ula Cafe.

Enjoy this warm fall day!
