UPDATE: State Police have released the names of the people who died.

Two women are dead and another passenger is in critical condition after a BMW crossed the center line at Perkins and Jamaicaway, slamming head-on into a Camry.
The wreck took place just before 3 a.m. Sunday, according to a report from State Police.
The investigation so far indicates the driver of a 2007 BMW 530xi, Jennifer Guzman of Hyde Park, crossed the center line and struck a 2002 Toyota Camry. Two women in the BMW died. Neither was wearing a seat belt. Troopers say that was a factor in making it a lethal wreck.
State Police announced Sunday the victims were: Maria Y. Hernandez, 44, of Everett and Luz A. Puentes-Sheets, 33, Revere.
The driver of the Camry, 36-year-old Cesar Viasus of Roslindale, suffered non life-threatening injuries but his passenger, Luis Parra, 43, of Roslindale, was initially in critical condition at Beth Israel Hospital. By Sunday evening, State Police said he was in recovery.
State Police weren't able to reopen the Jamaicaway until 6:35 a.m.
The Jamaicaway is well-known to residents as a dangerous road. Originally laid out as a winding parkway, it today handles heavy inter-city traffic.
Just last week a car flipped over on the adjoining Arborway. Despite the severity of that wreck, no one was hospitalized.
