Peabody Properties, Inc. – a Braintree-based, full-service real estate firm managing in excess of 10,000 housing units located primarily in New England – today announced that two employees and one property recently received awards at 14th annual Rental Housing Association Multifamily Conference and Expo.

Each year, through a special award ceremony, the Rental Housing Association (RHA) – an organization representing owners and managers of more than 100,000 property units across the Commonwealth – honors the achievements of real estate professionals and recognizes superior communities. At this year’s awards ceremony, Leasing Agent Alyson Walsh received the Leasing Consultant Professional Achievement Award, in recognition of her effective closing skills, commitment to customer service and role as a team player. Since joining Peabody Properties in 2008, Walsh has successfully leased six properties including 225 Centre Street in Jamaica Plain, Barstow Village in Hanover and The Hayes at Railroad Square in Haverhill.

Joining Walsh among the award recipients was Regional Property Manager John McKee, who received the Regional Manager Professional Achievement Award. The Regional Manager award honors real estate professionals who have the ability to achieve financial goals and are successful in team building, leadership, employee recruiting and retention. McKee, who joined the Peabody Properties team in 2009, manages 17 affordable housing properties, including three priority-one homeless communities, and has implemented extensive energy efficient programs throughout these properties.

225 Centre Street, a 103-unit mixed-use/mixed-income apartment community in Jamaica Plain, received a Community of Excellence Award in the “New” category, which recognizes properties established within the past five years that have demonstrated service to residents and the community and that perform financially against the market area. 225 Centre Street contains 68 luxury market units and 35 affordable units, including 10 units set-aside for the homeless. Among the features of the property are 16,000 square feet of commercial and retail space, a fitness center, on-site personal storage and, off street and covered parking. The property also offers an array of resident services and is actively engaged in the surrounding community.

According to Peabody Properties Principal and Chief Operating Officer, Melissa Fish-Crane, the firm is pleased to see the hard work of Walsh and McKee recognized by the RHA. “Alyson and John are exceptional real estate professionals and dedicated team members; we’re very excited to see their efforts honored,” said Fish-Crane. “We are also grateful to the RHA for naming 225 Centre Street a Community of Excellence. Our team has put tremendous effort in to achieving the highest standards at 225 Centre and we’re delighted to receive this award.”
