A man who prosecutors say racked a pistol-grip shotgun in direction of someone at the corner of Mozart and Centre has turned himself in — a dozen years later.

Wellington Matos, now 34, walked into Roxbury Municipal Court on Thursday to face the charges against him, according to the Suffolk County District Attorney's office. The South Boston man was charged with assault with a dangerous weapon, unlawful possession of ammunition and two counts of unlawful possession of a firearm.

The alleged incident took place the evening of March 8, 2003. For more on the incident — and details of the bail set on Thursday, please visit the District Attorney's Web site.
