A chalk drawing outside Ivy Insurance on South Street memorializing Ivy the shop cat, who passed away Aug. 22 at the age of 15, is one of many remembrances to emerge this week in honor of the beloved JP feline.
The day after Ivy passed away, Jamaica Plain News visited the storefront and observed Ivy’s collar in his cat bed, which was surrounded by photos of the orange and white cat.
This week, additional person remembrances have been placed on the window at Ivy Insurance, including this note from a young Ivy fan addressed to Tim Foley, Ivy’s owner.
In addition, the Jamaica Plain News staff is very touched by the outpouring of online tributes to Ivy that were shared with us via social media after we reported the sad news last week of Ivy’s passing. Below are some of our readers’ photos and stories remembering the late, great shop cat. Click through to the post on our Facebook page to view larger photos and more touching tributes to Ivy.

Rest well, Ivy. Whatever kind of day I was walking into or away from, you made it a little better. https://t.co/E6wuMb8p06
