Oops, JP”News”, there goes any shred of journalistic integrity that you might have still had left. You’re allowing advertisers to author your ‘news’ articles now. And you file it under Community and not advertisement.
Many of the stories in this paper seem to revolve around controversal residential development in the neighborhoods and we see now that your news is being authored by those who will directly benefit from those same developments.
You’ve squandered the good will of your readers. How can anyone ever read what is written on these pages now without wondering if there is financial benefit to someone at JP News to slant a story a certain way, or to soft peddle on some important facts so as not to rile the advertisers?

Hi Peppy, and thanks for sharing your thoughts. We’ve had the “From the Community” section since we launched nearly three years ago. All local businesses, advertisers or not, are welcome to announce their news in this section.

You guys can slant it any way you want, but it’s still an advertiser writing the news, for you, about themselves, that you sanction. I’m going to go out on a limb and suggest that nothing in this ‘news article’ was fact checked, i.e. they can write anything they want to. Most reputable real newspapers make it clear what is an actual news story, and what is advertisement. I am not saying that you or they are up to anything nefarious. I guess in the end, it’s only your reputation that suffers.
