Benefit Concert: Help Bring Inuksuit to the Arnold Arboretum

March 24, 2016 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

$50 – $75

Maria Finkelmeier, Founder and Executive Director, Kadence Arts, and Friends

On June 12, the Arnold Arboretum and Kadence Arts will host the Boston premiere of Inuksuit—an epic composition for large percussion ensemble. Composed by Pulitzer Prize winner John Luther Adams and performed in cities around the globe, the piece will be performed by 50 or more percussionists dispersed throughout the conifer collection of the Arnold Arboretum. To present Inuksuit free of charge for all to experience we are seeking funding for this Boston debut.

To introduce Bostonians to Inuksuit and help defray costs, we invite you to attend a benefit concert performed by Maria Finkelmeier and other percussion musicians in the Weld Hill Building at the Arnold Arboretum on Thursday, March 24 at 7:00pm.

Enjoy light refreshments, support this cultural undertaking, and learn how John Luther Adams' innovative, multi-instrument piece will unfold among the Arboretum’s conifers this June. See details about the June performance on the inside front cover of Silva and in our June program listings.

Fee $50 thru March 8; $75 after March 8
Can't attend the benefit? Consider donating to Kadence Arts, our collaborator in presenting Inuksuit, to help defray our costs.
