Caucus to Select Ward 19 Delegates to MA Democratic Party Convention and Indivisible Training

Ward 19 (Jamaica Plain/Roslindale) Democrats will convene on Saturday, March 11, 2017 to select delegates to the upcoming Massachusetts Democratic State Convention 2017.  Any Ward 19 resident who is a registered Democrat is eligible to be a delegate to this Convention.  All Ward 19 Democrats are encouraged to attend the caucus where delegates will be elected.

At the Convention, delegates will approve the platform which defines what the party will stand for in upcoming elections, hold breakout sessions on organizing and running political organizations, and have opportunities to meet and talk with candidates in this Fall’s elections.  The Convention will be held at the Tsongas Center, University of Massachusetts, Lowell on Saturday, June 3, 2017.

All interested in being a delegate must attend the caucus or notify the Ward 19 Committee of your interest in advance via info@bostonward19dems.org.  Elected delegates pay a fee of $75.00 to attend.  The Senior/ Disabled/ Student fee is $50.00.  Delegates may request a fee waiver from the Democratic Party if needed.

Ward 19 Democrats in attendance at this Caucus will select delegates for this year’s Convention.  The caucus will be held at the Farnsworth House Committee Room, 90 South Street, Jamaica Plain.  Doors will open at 9:45 am and close at 10:15 am.  Democratic Party rules mandate that attendees must be present by 10:15 to be eligible to vote.

Following the selection of Convention delegates, Ward 19 will provide a training on how to use  Indivisible: A Practical Guide for Resisting the Trump Agenda.  Citizens are using Indivisible strategies to advocate their positions with their elected officials at meetings and Town Halls across the country.  Ward 19 is pleased to offer this training for Ward 19 Democrats and to encourage use ofIndivisible.  Following the delegate selection and Indivisible training, Ward 19 will conduct its monthly business meeting.
