DORCHESTER – Hundreds of participants are expected to join the family of the late Elsie Frank at the 9th Annual Elsie Frank 5K for Kit Clark Senior Services on Saturday, May 30, at DCR’s Pope John Paul II Park in Dorchester.

Elsie Frank, beloved and inspirational mother of former Congressman Barney Frank, was a passionate champion for elders; she served as President of the Massachusetts Association of Older Americans and was a delegate to President Clinton’s White House Council on Aging. The 2015 Elsie Frank 5K celebrates her work on behalf of all seniors, and all proceeds from the event will support Kit Clark Senior Services.

This 5K run will be held rain or shine, at DCR’s Pope John Paul II Park. Participants will also have the option to walk the course, if they choose. This year, the Elsie’s Kids Fun Run has been added to the day’s festivities for children ages 10 and under. All who participate in this ½-mile run are winners, with each registered child receiving a medal as they cross the finish line!
