The Lights are Bright on Broadway – Ice Chips: Show of Champions starring Two-Time World

Exciting news as local skaters, including Dessie Bell-Kamen of Jamaica Plain, will join the star-filled cast this year for the 105th anniversary celebration of The Skating Club of Boston’s annual Ice Chips: Show of Champions at
Harvard’s Bright–Landry Hockey Center. This year’s Ice Chips show will include a spectacular mix of solo and group performances. The Club welcomes back to Boston, special guest star, Javier Fernandez, who thrilled the Boston crowd by winning the 2016 ISU Word Figure Skating Championship. In addition, musical guest, Jelani Remy, currently starring on Broadway as Simba in The Lion King, will perform with our cast, as well as fifteen U.S. Championship competitors, including Marisa Castelli & Mervin Tran, Ross Miner, Megan Wessenberg, Emmy Ma,
and Emilia Murdock.
This year’s dazzling show, “The Lights are Bright on Broadway” featuring beloved songs from the most popular musicals, will appeal to audience members of all ages. The creative team features, Matt Lind, Artistic Director, Timothy LeBlanc as Show Producer and Adam Blake. Matt’s vision for the show’s theme was inspired when he saw The Lion King on Broadway. Both Timothy and Adam, formerly with Disney On Ice, as performers, producers and
choreographers bring their wealth of experience to the show’s production value. If you’ve watched professional
skating on TV, but have never had the excitement of attending a live performance, come to Ice Chips, and prepare to be amazed and entertained!
Over 300 skaters from fifty towns across Massachusetts and beyond will participate in the show! Ice Chips: Show of Champions is The Skating Club of Boston’s annual skating festival and the longest-running amateur ice show in

The Skating Club of Boston is immensely proud to have donated revenues from the shows to various charities over the last 80 years including Children’s Hospital of Boston. In the past several years, almost 2000 Girl Scouts have
attended the show. Many of them were so inspired by what they saw they signed up for their own skating lessons.

In addition to the 400 skaters in Ice Chips, over 200 volunteers work behind the scenes to make Ice Chips the best ever year after year.
