Jamaica Plain, Mass. (Nov. 10, 2015) — The Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage office in Jamaica Plain will help to sell Thanksgiving pies to benefit Community Servings. Apple, pecan, pumpkin and sweet potato pies will be sold for $28 each as part of Community Servings annual “Pie in the Sky” fundraiser.

Community Servings is a nonprofit food and nutrition program that provides free medically-tailored meals to individuals and families living with critical and chronic illnesses in 20 cities and towns throughout Massachusetts. In addition to providing home-delivered meals, Community Servings offers nutrition education classes for the nutritionally vulnerable and food service job training for individuals who face barriers to employment.

Each fall, Community Servings enlists volunteers to bake and sell Thanksgiving pies to raise money for its programs as part of its “Pie in the Sky” fundraiser. Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage has been a consistent supporter of this annual fundraising effort. Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage employees and affiliated sales associates sold more than 5,740 pies, raising $194,029 during last year’s fundraiser. The company has also served as a lead title sponsor of Pie in the Sky, and Coldwell Banker offices throughout the region have hosted pie pick-up locations.

“We are so proud to continue our support of Community Servings, which works so hard to help individuals and families who are dealing with serious illnesses like cancer, HIV and diabetes. Every fall, the affiliated sales associates and employees of Coldwell Banker look forward to Pie in the Sky and are eager to connect with their neighbors and friends to contribute to the success of this important fundraiser,” said Pat Villani, president ofColdwell Banker Residential Brokerage in New England.“Community Servings is a valuable partner, and we are pleased we are able to assist them as they provide valuable services to some of the region’s most vulnerable residents.”

More than 150 of Greater Boston’s most generous bakers, restaurants, and caterers, including Flour, Gaslight, The Fireplace, Russell Orchards, Longfellow’s Wayside Inn, Harvest, and Vicki Lee’s, are preparing and donating pies.
