Welding is an essential part of our lives – from the cars we drive, to the buildings we live in, and has also become prevalent in modern art. Students learn shop safety, how to use tools and equipment, finishing methods, project planning and completion. Various welding techniques are covered including gas and arc welding. Students should wear closed-toe leather shoes, non-frayed jeans, a long sleeve natural fiber shirt, an old cap or bandanna and tie back long hair.

Welding sessions available are 6/27-6/27, 7/11-7-13, 7/25-7/27,  and 8/01-8/03.

Wearable art has been around since before there was fire. Students learn the fundamentals of casting metal through direct casting into cuttlefish and carving wax. The whole process is covered from creating a mold, burning out the wax, watching molten metal fill the mold, cleaning and finishing. Silver is included for the initial project, additional silver is available for sale. Students should wear closed-toe shoes and tie back long hair.

Jewelry making sessions available are 6/27-6/29 and 7/25-7/27.
