Workshop: Working with a Contractor, Part 1

Don’t let your home improvement project become a horror story. This workshop will help you avoid common pitfalls so that the end result of your project is in line with your expectations for both quality and budget. In Part 1, you will learn about how to define your own expectations for the work you need and how to find, evaluate, and choose a contractor, with a particular focus on maintaining good communication. Parts 1 and 2 (December 13) can be taken separately.

The workshop will be taught by JP resident Paul Kiefer, a staff member at Boston Building Resources. He has more than 20 years’ experience as a woodworking contractor and coordinates deconstruction services for the Reuse Center at BBR. Cost is $65 for the public, $40 for BBR members. Save another $10 if you take both parts 1 and 2.
