Have You Seen The New Artistic Bike Racks in Hyde Square?

Four new artistic bike racks have been installed in Hyde Square as part of the square's ongoing reconstruction. Four bike racks were installed along Centre Street in mid-December. One was installed in front of JP Laundry Centre near Paul Gore Street, one was installed near Sorella's in Hyde Square, one in front of Centre Liquor in Hyde Square and a fourth installed in front of Rizzo's Pizza at the corner of Westerly Street. Hyde Jackson Square Main Street (HJSMS) led the project to install the bike racks with funding provided by the city through funds HJSMS receives to do work. The city's Public Works Department installed the bike racks.

New Executive Director for JP Centre/South Main Streets Named After 19-Month Search

There is a new executive director for the Jamaica Plain Centre/South Main Streets program after 19 months of that position being vacant. "One of my favorite things about JP is the cultural vibrancy and the social economic diversity it has," Johnson told Jamaica Plain News. "I love that you can find an Indian restaurant yards away from a Lebanese restaurant or a Goodwill store feet away from City Feed. JP's residents are smart, active and engaged." He said he plans to put more focus on the South Street portion of the district, "...it seems that South Street has been somewhat neglected over time."
