Postponed: Three Kings’ Day Parranda Moved to Jan. 12th

Due to the predicted freezing temperatures, Hyde Square Task Force is postponing its annual Three Kings' Day Parranda to January 12, 2018. We will start at the Connolly Branch of the Boston Public Library for crown-making and a reading about Three Kings' Day at 4 pm. We will then parade and sing down Centre Street with Musicians in Community youth at 5:00 pm. The parade will end at Hyde Square Task Force (361 Centre Street, Jamaica Plain, (behind the Blessed Sacrament Church) with a performance of folkloric Caribbean music by Zayra Pola from 5:30-7:30 pm. Refreshments will be provided, and each child attending the event will receive a free book.

Join Hyde Square Task Force to celebrate Three Kings Day next Friday, Jan. 6, with a parade and celebration! Three Kings Day refers to the Nativity story of the Three Kings, also know as the Three Wise Men -- Melchior, Caspar and Balthazar -- who brought gifts to baby Jesus in Bethlehem. The event will begin at 3:30 p.m. at the Connolly Library at 433 Centre St. with a crown-making activity for children.
