Café Bartlett Square Cook-Out: On Saturday, Café Bartlett Square is throwing a public cook-out. They’re promising artisan burgers, veggie kabobs and cold beer. Kitty-cornered from Green Street Station, 154 Green St.

Franklin Park Tree Planting and Volunteer Day: Give some love to Franklin Park on Saturday morning for Tree Planting and Volunteer Day. Click here for details. Work runs from 10 a.m. to noon.

Craft Workshop: The Jamaica Plain Library hosts local community arts organization Spontaneous Celebrations for a free craft workshop for families to prepare for the annual Wake up the Earth/Despertar de la Tierra parade and festival. The workshop beings at 10 a.m. More information here.

Make JP Shine: The city of Boston's annual "Boston Shines" volunteer event is taking place tomorrow. JP residents can register with the city as official volunteers, or just go outside and make a difference by doing a little spring cleaning. Read more here.
