Daydreaming about what might go in empty store fronts is a favorite JP pastime. What would you like to see at 676 Centre St. next to Purple Cactus?

Q Salon and Spa recently decamped for 585 Mass. Ave. in the South End. Local entrepreneur Jennifer Lydon did a ton of renovations to the space before leaving.

Before it was Q Salon, 676 Centre was home to Jamaicaway Books and, for a time, a Southern eatery downstairs.

There was a time when a leading idea for the space might've been another coffee shop. But with City Feed at the adjacent corner, JP Licks across the street and Caffè Nero on the way to the former Commonwealth Bank space across from Blanchards, the stretch is pretty well set for java.

Some residents weren't thrilled when Q Salon went into the space, noting the heavy concentration of hair salons JP seems to attract.

It's a prime location, right in the heart of JP's busiest business district. What would you like to see there?
