The Little Library at Bardwell and South streets is reborn!
A community-minded mystery carpenter has finished a new Little Library for the electrical box at Bardwell and South streets. And as, promised, it has a cool design.
In May, the JP Little Library went missing or was damaged. Residents mourned the passing of the quirky neighborhood feature. A JP man who hammers and nails for justice under the name "Karma Carpenter" promised the neighborhood a new one.
As often happens with building projects, there were unanticipated delays, the Karma Carpenter told Jamaica Plain News in a phone conversation earlier this month.

A temporary replacement for the Little Library, as of Wednesday, June 4, 2104.
"I know it's long overdue," he said at the time, explaining that he'd been busy dealing with the city bureaucracy over his backyard chickens, one of whom died.
Over the weekend, the Karma Carpenter came through. The new design even boasts an herb garden on top.
As for his true identity, the Karma Carpenter prefers not to give his real name.
"I'm kind of like the Batman of carpenters," he previously told the Jamaica Plain News.
Here's a gallery of some of the neighborhood's other tiny libraries:
