First Thursday and ‘Little Mermaid’ Are On, Storm or No

The unsettled weather won't stop this month's First Thursday Art Walk or the "Screen on the Green" showing of "Little Mermaid."

As everyone knows, rain and thunderstorms are expected late Thursday. But that isn't stopping the forty locations hosting art exhibits along Centre/South.

A free showing of Disney's "The Little Mermaid," has been confirmed for outdoors at the Loring-Greenough House at 12 South St. The plan had been, at worst, to move the film indoors to 668 Centre St., beside City Feed. First Thursday Art Walk is organized by the business development group Centre/South Main Streets.

Among the highlights for this month's celebration of art and business in Centre/South is Blue Frog Bakery hosting another "pop-up" restaurant. This month it's a carnivore's delight as they serve "Bacon Bombs" for $5. Go to the 3 Green St. bakery starting at 6 p.m. for, get ready: "Pork loin. Wrapped in sausage. Wrapped in bacon." Served on a Blue Frog Bakery bun, which — fun fact — is the same bun used for the burgers at Grass Fed.

Here's a map to all the festivities, which run from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
