We're only 72 hours away from the opening chords of the Fourth Annual Jamaica Plain Music Festival. Last week, the latest fundraiser for the celebration of local music and musicians brought in nearly $1,000.

The all-volunteer effort to bring more than 20 bands to Pinebank Field (for free), well, it ain't cheap. Last Monday, supporters of the festival gathered at Tres Gatos for a $15-a-head fundraiser. Entertainment included music from Tallahassee and tunes from DJ Phil Wilcox. For more photos of a great evening in JP, visit the Music Festival's Facebook page.

This year's music festival gets underway at noon Saturday.
