A slow-motion snow event has begun and could whack already snow-burdened JP streets with up to 16 more inches of this stuff.

The National Weather Service predicts 8-12 inches for the area including JP in its latest winter storm watch

The Weather Service says light snow showers and flurries (which have already begun) will develop through the afternoon. The snow will get steadier late Saturday. Moderate to heavy snow is predicted for Sunday night.

Meanwhile, over at WHDH, the TV station is putting Boston in a band where 14 to 20 inches are expected by Tuesday.
