Twenty restaurants doled out samples of their best fare to hungry attendees at the Taste of Jamaica Plain, held Thursday night, Sept. 17, at the Franklin Park Zoo.
This year's Taste, which celebrated the 50th anniversary of ESAC, drew more than 250 attendees and raise more than $40,000. The money raised will help fund programs and operations at the nonprofit organization, which supports seniors, youths and educational efforts within the community.
"We were thrilled to have our 50th anniversary celebration in the community, and to be joined by our partner restaurants, as well as friends from JP and surrounding neighborhoods that make the Taste such a fun event every year," said Emily Morris Litonjua, ESAC's executive director.
