On Saturday the Maria Sanchez House, an affordable housing facility for senior citizens, will celebrate its grand opening in Mission Hill.
The facility is named after the mother of state Rep. Jeffrey Sanchez, D-Jamaica Plain and is at 30 Gurney St. in Mission Hill, across from the Roxbury Crossing MBTA Station. This is a new development of 40 units of affordable housing for senior citizens.
Members of the Sanchez family will celebrate the opening with Mayor Marty Walsh, the Mission Hill Neighborhood Housing Services, Mission Hill residents and other elected officials in a ceremony at 11:15 am. The celebration will take place in the first floor community room of the new housing facility.
