The fallout surrounding disgraced former state chemist Annie Dookhan continues. Today the Supreme Judicial Court ordered a new trial for Daniel Francis, who was previously convicted by a jury of trafficking crack in 2005. But some of the evidence used to convict him had been certified by Dookhan.

Francis was found guilty of trafficking crack outside of the Forest Hills MBTA Station, and the substance found in his vehicle was certified by Dookhan, acccording to UniversalHub.com.

The SJC previously ordered new trials for people found guilty on drug charges based on certifications by Dookhan, who worked at a state lab in Jamaica Plain mere feet away from Forest Hills station.

Dookhan is currently serving 3 to 5 years in prison for pleading guilty to evidence tampering in 2013.
