People danced in the streets, children dangled from a circus trapeze, politicians sang, comedians tickled funny bones, and musicians offered their own unique musical stylings during the 4th Annual Jamaica Plain Porchfest on Saturday.

This year, 205 bands performed on 95 porches throughout JP delivering original songs and covers of bluegrass, hip-hop, jazz, Latin, rock, pop, classical and more. The streets were packed throughout the day as porchfesters gravitated to stoops, yards, driveways, churches and community centers.

Children enjoyed free trapeze lessons at the Eliot School, comedians performed at the Loring-Greenough House and politicians sang and danced at the First Baptist Church on Centre Street. This year, Porchfest also added the resource mobilization fair to feature area nonprofits.

The School of HONK jammed out for a large audience on the lawn of the First Baptist Church on Centre Street -- and a baby got down, too.
