It’s the Annual Teddy Bear Clinic at Angell Animal Medical Center

Veterinarians at Jamaica Plain’s MSPCA Angell Animal Medical Center treat some 80,000 patients every year — from dogs and cats to rabbits, birds, ferrets and other four-leggeds — but they recognize that there’s a huge and underserved population of patients in Jamaica Plain who need tender loving care just as much: teddy bears.

That’s why Angell will hold its annual Teddy Bear Clinic this Saturday, Aug. 12, from noon to 2 p.m. No appointments are necessary. Kids of all ages can bring their bears (or stuffed pals of any variety) for a free examination by an Angell doctor, who’ll listen carefully to any concerns before treating these much-loved patients.

Fortunately, most teddy bears leave the clinic with only a band aid or a wayward limb wrapped in gauze (to their owners’ relief). Dozens of kids and their parents are expected, with at least as many teddy bear patients.

Got a teddy bear with a boo-boo? Bring him to the clinic and let’s get him taken care of!
