New England’s wildlife is the theme of an upcoming photography exhibit at the Audubon Society’s Boston Nature Center by a Jamaica Plain resident.
Local Jamaica Plain photographer and Oscar-nominated filmmaker Ben Achtenberg’s images offer a close-up look at some of the beasts and birds who share the local environment with us, often unnoticed. Achtenberg was nominated for an Academy Award in 1985 for Best Documentary, Short Subjects for Code Gray: Ethical Dilemmas in Nursing.
The show opened on Sunday, Feb. 18th and continues through March and April. There will be an artist’s reception from noon to 2 pm on Feb. 25th.
The Nature Center (500 Walk Hill St., Mattapan) is open Monday-Friday from 9 am to 5 pm; and 10 am to 4 pm on Saturday, Sunday and Monday holidays. Directions are on the Center's website.
