Help the community looking good this Saturday as there will be cleanups in four different neighborhoods. Volunteers are wanted and there will be various things to do, so if you can't do heavy lifting -- that's fine! Tools and gloves will be provided, just be ready to get down and dirty for JP.

JP Centre/South Main Streets' will be cleaning just what their name indicates -- along Centre and South streets. They will start at 9 am at the South Street Tennis Courts, and then head over to the municipal parking lot across from the Curley School. Tools and gloves will be provided, but you can certainly bring your own. Please RSVP here so enough tools and snacks can be on hand.

Hyde Jackson Square Main Streets will be beautifying its section of Centre Street by adding fresh mulch to street trees, new flowers and shrubs in open spaces, and then end with a community picnic. Volunteers should meet at Mozart Park (267 Centre St.) at 9 am and the plan is to be done with work by 12:30 pm. Please RSVP by emailing info@hydejacksonsquare. And if you've got shovels or a wheelbarrow -- bring 'em.

Egleston Square Main Streets is hosting its cleanup by starting at its office at 3134 Washington St. at 10 am. The cleanup will end around 1 pm. You can show your interest on the Facebook event page by clicking here.

The Walden Garden neighborhood cleanup will be on Saturday, April 21 2018.

There will also be a cleanup at Walden Garden (15 Walden St.) hosted by the city's Neighborhood Services Department and the Jamaica Plain Neighborhood Development Corporation (JPNDC). Volunteers will be plant in common areas of the garden, help gardeners clear their plots, provide touch-up painting and gather loose organic debris. This cleanup looks like it's publicizing the best food for volunteers as coffee and muffins will be offered in the morning and pizza for lunch. This cleanup is from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm. Visit the Facebook event page and let organizers know you're interested in volunteering.

And if you can't volunteer on April 21st and would like to help cleanup the community, the city-sponsored Love Your Block Neighborhood Clean Up is on Saturday, May 5th. Click here to volunteer for Love Your Block.
