Nighttime paving for the Casey Arborway project is beginning the week of May 28h and is expected to last approximately four weeks.

Nighttime paving will begin the week of May 28, 2018, project wide west (towards the Arboretum) of the West Roxbury District Courthouse. Operations will begin at 8 pm with all lanes returned to normal use by 6 am the following morning. Night work will go on for approximately four weeks running from Sunday to Saturday each week.

The MassDOT’s contractor for the Casey Arborway Project, Barletta Heavy Division, will be paving project wide west (towards the Arnold Arboretum) of the West Roxbury District Courthouse.

Paving will begin at 8 pm with all lanes being returned to normal by 6 am the next morning.

Work will also include the placement of final pavement markings and  thermoplastic markings for roadway striping, crosswalks and more will be placed seven days after pavement has been laid. Green bicycle crossings will be placed 30 days after pavement has been laid. Temporary markings will be applied after each individual paving operation.

When this work is done it will result in the final lane configuration of the northbound approach of Washington Street at the intersection of Washington Street and Arborway adjacent to the former LAZ parking lot.

MassDOT is encouraging motorists to reduce speed, exercise caution and pay attention to all posted signage while traveling through the eastern end of the project. Local access to homes and businesses will be maintained. There will also be temporary parking restrictions during parts of these operations.
