The Bukhara restaurant reopened on Thursday after being shutdown on August 23 by the city for health code violations -- for the second time in six months.

Bukhara had a sign on its door indicating it had an "A" sanitary inspection grade from the city on August 30, 2018. The restaurant was shutdown on Aug. 23 due to health code violations. It's the second time since March that the restaurant was shutdown by the city due to health code violations.

On Thursday the Centre Street restaurant had reopened, but with very few customers around 6 pm. There was a sign on the door that said the business has an "A" sanitary inspection grade from the city. Another sign said that health code violations can be reported by calling the Boston Public Health Commission at 617-534-4718.

UniversalHub.com reported that the Centre Street restaurant was shutdown earlier this month for violations "...including a lack of hot water in the sink used by employees to wash their hands and equipment that needed cleaning, including a can opener, a microwave and the inside of an ice machine."

There were also dirty walls, ceilings, vents and cooking hoods, as well the floor under cooking equipment.

A Boston Inspectional Services Department Health Division document detailing why Bukhara had its license temporarily was posted on the restaurant's door on March 6, 2018.

In March the restaurant was shutdown for health code violations, including multiple containers of food sitting in the basement at ambient room temperature, and that the designated person in charge on site could not answer basic questions related to "cold holding temperatures, cooling methods, hot holding methods, proper thawing of PHF foods and proper storage of foods." Also, the certified food protection manager was not monitoring holding temperatures, cooling methods, proper thawing of PHF foods and cold holding temperatures.

During its first shutdown the restaurant had a sign in its window saying it was closed for renovations, and apparently a similar sign was placed in the window in the last week, according to commenters on UniversalHub.com.

Due to a failed inspection, the Bukhara restaurant was temporarily closed due to a license suspension on March 1, 2018.
