Let There Be Art! Jamaica Plain Open Studios This Weekend

The 25th Annual Jamaica Plain Open Studios is taking place this weekend at 47 different locations displaying paintings, sculptures, woodwork, ceramics and more.

This year's open studios is from 11 am to 6 pm on both Saturday and Sunday and it is free to visit any of the locations, which are spread out throughout Jamaica Plain.

There are singular artist shows like Sharif Muhammad's oil and acrylic paintings at 213A Lamartine St.; Molly Landman's fiber arts, collage and quilting at 96 Rossmore Road #1; and Barbara Ellen Watkins painting and drawing at 6 Everett St.

Artist Ellen Shattuck Pierce's work, including 'Good Neighbor,' is showing at site #8 at 169 School St.

If you're looking to take in many artists at the same time you'll want to visit the Courtyard at the Brewery (31 Germania St.); First Baptist Church (633 Centre St.) with artists' works inside and outside; the Eliot School of Fine & Applied Art (24 Eliot St.); the Loring-Greenough House (12 South St.) with works on the inside and outside; and other locations.

Artist Patricia Thaxton's work, including 'Shelia,' is showing at the Courtyard of the Brewery at 31 Germania St.

Numerous businesses are also hosting artists' works, including Coldwell Banker, FOCUS Real Estate, Fresh Hair, Rockland Trust, The Real Deal and more.

Artist Jerel Dye's work, including 'Idle Ship,' is showing at site #36, at The Eliot School of Fine and Applied Arts, 24 Eliot St.
