Jamaica Plain’s Becca Lewis was recently featured in Theater UnCorked’s "One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest" in Cambridge.

"One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest" is Dale Wasserman’s 1963 Tony Award-winning adaptation of the novel by Ken Kesey. Lewis plays Sandy, a good-time-girl who crashes a party in a mid-century psychiatric hospital. Many people also know the movie starring Jack Nicholson.

The enhanced stage reading had two performances on Oct. 13 at the Margaret Jewett Hall in Cambridge. It was directed by Elliot Norton Award Winner Bobbie Steinbach.

"One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest" was Lewis’ first performance with Theatre Uncorked, but she has appeared on stages across the Boston area. Most recently, she appeared as Dolly Hancock at the Old State House in the world premiere of Playwright Patrick Gabridge's, "Cato & Dolly." Prior to that she appeared as astronomer Williamina Fleming (the first woman to receive a Harvard title) with the Nora at Central Square Theater in the world premiere of Joyce Van Dyke's play, "The Women Who Mapped the Stars."

Lewis also co-created and performs in The Pineapple Project with Queer Soup, an original piece for kids celebrating gender diversity.
