A trio of local businesses will open in the South Street storefront that last housed Monumental Cupcakes, which alluded to a future "monumental" business opening in its place when it closed in January.

The Monumental Market will be a novel venture of three independent businesses selling their products in one store.

The Lavender Bee Baking Co., Tipping Cow Ice Cream, and El Colombiano Coffee will come together in a novel venture called the Monumental Market, according to Boston Magazine. El Colombiano Coffee is often a vendor at the Egleston Farmers Market.

The store will be a bakery and cafe, serving ice cream and all products will be nut-free.

“We want to keep JP funky and vibrant, and use the space for the community to hold art shows, pop-ups, and other cool events. We want to make sure the market itself is almost like a farmers’ market, but permanent,” said Lavender Bee founder Kelsey Munger to Boston Magazine.

The owners of the new business got the keys to the store back in January and shared that moment via Instagram.

Boston Magazine reported that the business plans on opening this spring.
