Pizza boxes. Recyclable. Juice boxes. Not recyclable. What is, and what isn't recyclable, is often a confusing topic. Recycling varies depending upon municipalities. So something you may have recycled where you used to live, may not be recyclable in Boston, or vice versa.

So let's take a look at what you can recycle in Boston. Paper, plastic, pizza boxes, glass and more. Boston has provided this handy visual display to provide guidance.

Before we get to what cannot be recycled, let's look at what we'll be able to recycle in the future.

District 6 City Councilor Matt O'Malley has led the charge for the city to pilot composting and curbside textile recycling programs.

Here is a list of what you cannot recycle with the regular curbside recycling program.

You can recycle electronics, but need to do so during a recycling drop-off event. That includes laptops, printers, computers, cell phone batteries and more. You also need to schedule an appoint to recycle an appliance such as a fridge, dishwasher, and dryer.

Looking to get rid of hazardous waste, paint and motor oil -- there also drop-off events for those, too.
