Why I’m Running The Dana-Farber Marathon Challenge

The Boston Marathon will be here once again before you know! I am beyond proud to be a Jamaica Plain resident, running with the Dana-Farber Marathon Challenge team (DFMC).

One hundred percent of every dollar raised by the DFMC team supports the Claudia Adams Barr Program in Innovative Basic Cancer Research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. These funds are fueling some of today's most promising basic cancer research and I invite you to consider donating what you can to help me reach my ambitious goal to give back to this group.

I'd like to dedicate the 2020 Boston Marathon in memory of a close family friend who passed away in 2016 – an optimistic, strong individual I got to know through my mother – Sherry Blanchette Lapointe. Sherry "cowgirled up"during her battle with ovarian cancer and had been treated at Dana-Farber along the way. To Sherry, cowgirling up meant facing the challenges that cancer threw at her, head on. I'll be cowgirling up during the snowy, February runs ahead of me, and working through sore muscles that need to be stretched. But even more, I'll be cowgirling up to knock my fundraising goals out of the park with each and every donation by you all.

Together, we're headed towards the ultimate finish line: a world without cancer. Head to my fundraising page by clicking here.
