Annual gala will benefit Zoo New England’s Franklin Park and Stone Zoos

May 11, 2019 @ 6:00 pm - 11:00 pm

$500

Zootopia, presented by Citizens Bank, is set to “bring the Zoo” to the Cambridge waterfront this May! This annual fundraising gala benefitting Zoo New England will be held at the Royal Sonesta Boston. Citizens Bank is proud to return as the presenting sponsor of Zootopia.

The evening begins with a cocktail reception, silent auction and art auction followed by a spectacular dinner and dancing. During the cocktail reception, guests will have the opportunity to meet some of the Zoos’ Animal Ambassadors. Animal-inspired attire is encouraged!
This year, Zoo New England is honored to present the "Living the Mission" award to Dr. Edward O. Wilson in recognition of his deep commitment to conservation and biodiversity, both of which are at the heart of Zoo New England’s mission. Among more than one hundred awards that Dr. Wilson has received worldwide are the U. S. National Medal of Science, the Crafoord Prize (equivalent of the Nobel, for ecology) of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences, the International Prize of Biology of Japan; and in letters, two Pulitzer Prizes in nonfiction, the Nonino and Serono Prizes of Italy, and the COSMOS Prize of Japan. He is currently Honorary Curator in Entomology and University Research Professor Emeritus, Harvard University.
Proceeds from Zootopia 2019 will directly benefit Zoo New England’s Franklin Park Zoo and Stone Zoo, including the Zoos’ education programs, and conservations efforts both locally and around the world.
