Bikes Not Bombs 32nd Annual Bike-A-Thon

June 9, 2019

Join us for our 32nd Annual Bike-A-Thon on Sunday,  June 9, 2019 (rain date, June 23rd). A social change benefit ride for Bikes Not Bombs, our 10, 30, 50 and 100 mile routes are well-supported, and take cyclists through some of greater Boston’s most scenic routes.

The 100 mile route features 4 rest stops and smooth, scenic stretches through some of metro Boston’s most beautiful towns west of the city. The 50 mile route creatively weaves together the best roads and sites from the Dover area to form a secluded and adventurous ride with two rest stops. Aside from a handful of short stretches on main connecting streets, you'll find yourself forgetting cars even exist! The 30 mile route is perfect for cyclists who do not want to do too much training but want to push themselves. The 10 mile route is very family friendly, with many wide, safe, low-traffic roads that put any rider at ease.

For route maps and further information on all 4 routes, visit https://bikesnotbombs.org/bike-a-thon/routes. We offer regular rest stops staffed with bike mechanics and medics, as well as plentiful drinks and healthy, energy-packed snacks.

Riders will receive a t-shirt, a reusable water bottle, breakfast as well as a delicious, healthy lunch and live music at the after party when the riders return. The ride starts and returns on the Southwest Corridor next to the Stony Brook T stop in Jamaica Plain.

For 35 years, Bikes Not Bombs has used the bicycle as a vehicle for social change. We reclaim 6,000 bikes each year, and use them in our International Partnerships in the Global South, and in our innovative youth development programs. We make it easy to raise the $200 minimum to participate in the ride ($100 for youth 12-17 and $50 for youth under 12).
