Chlotrudis Winter Film Series: APPROPRIATE BEHAVIOR

January 30, 2016 @ 6:00 pm - 8:30 pm

$5

Join Boston’s own Chlotrudis Society for Independent Film as it presents some of 2015’s little seen film gems. Films start at 6pm, $5 suggested donation at door.

APPROPRIATE BEHAVIOR – Brooklynite Shirin, the daughter of well-off Persian immigrants, is left homeless & jobless after her girlfriend Maxine breaks up with her. Not out to her family, who don’t understand what’s going on with her, she moves in with strange roommates & gets a new job teaching 1st graders the art of movie making. Following a family announcement of her brother’s betrothal, Shirin embarks on a private rebellion involving a series of pansexual escapades, while trying to decipher what went wrong with Maxine.

A Chlotrudis nominee for its Buried Treasure award, APPROPRIATE BEHAVIOR has gotten strong reviews since its debut at Sundance, where the film’s writer, director and lead Desiree Akhavan was hailed as a new talent to watch.  It has also been nominated for Best First Screenplay by the Independent Spirit Awards.
