Please join the Harvard Film Archive at Loring Greenough House for six short 16mm films from the collection of the Harvard Film Archive, appropriate for all ages.
A classic silent film over a century old, four locally-made shorts from the 1960s and 70s and a SURPRISE classic cartoon.
- CLASSIC SILENT FILM -
MUDDLED IN MUD (aka A MUDDY ROMANCE) (Mack Sennett, 1913). B&W silent film, starring Mabel Normand, 12 minutes.
- LOCAL FILMMAKERS -
33 YO YO TRICKS (P. White, 1976) Your new favorite film is a color, sound, live action film, 8 minutes.
GO GO CITGO (Donald Berman, 1968), color, sound, a lively experimental film of the Citgo Sign, 4 minutes.
BOSTON ELEVATED (Ralph Thanhauser, 1970), color, sound, a non-narrative study of the elevated train system of Boston, set to a jazz score, 11 minutes.
QUARRY (Richard Rogers, 1970), B&W experimental documentary, sound, 13 minutes. One of the greatest short films ever made was shot at the nearby Quincy Quarries.
