Neighborhood Cooking Tours of Jamaica Plain

Informative and entertaining cooking demonstrations featuring the four hot spots of Jamaica Plain’s culinary neighborhood will take place in the month of June at the Loring-Greenough House, located at 12 South Street, Jamaica Plain MA 02130. The Chefs Table Foundation and The Jamaica Plain Tuesday Club, both non-profit organizations, have partnered to bring this first-ever exciting culinary tour to Jamaica Plain. The Chefs’ Table Series TV Show will film the chefs of these four restaurants teaching a live audience how to cook a delicious dish. Proceeds from each cooking tour will benefit the non-profits. Guest will watch co-host & trained chef Joe Murphy cook along with the featured chef of the week, enjoy a wine pairing, tasting of the chef’s dish, and be part of a live studio taping of The Chefs’ Table Series! A raffle will also be part of the festivities! Mondays, at 6:15pm in June: June 9th: The Haven June 16th: Sanctuary June 23rd: Bella Luna Restaurant & The Milky Way Lounge June 30th: El Oriental de Cuba Menus will be announced on website. Tickets are $40 per person, and must be purchased in advance. There are no food substitutions. All guests must be in their seats by 6:15pm. All electronic devices must be turned off so not to interfere with the sound and filming of the show. It is estimated that the taping of the cooking segment, wine pairing, opening of the show, and guests enjoying wine and food will be 2 hours the most. The Club, founded in 1896, preserves the historic Loring-Greenough House (built in 1760) and its grounds for the people of Jamaica Plain. The Foundation solicits financial support and runs events for the purpose of helping people in need. The focus is to help youths between the ages of 17-24 that may be homeless and unable to advance themselves through continuing their education. This group of young adults deserve the opportunity to rise above their personal situation and grow into productive and responsible people. The Foundation is inclusive to all individuals regardless of race, religious affiliation, cultural history or country of origin. The individual must be a U.S. citizen and have his/her primary residence in Massachusetts. About The Chefs’ Table Series TV Show: an instructional and engaging 55-minute weekly cooking show featuring a cooking segment, wine and craft beer pairings, chef’s tip of the week and restaurant interview. The show is currently aired in 45 local access TV stations in eastern Massachusetts.
