The Invisible Threat: Gas Leak Impacts

April 4, 2018 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Free

Join us to learn about the impacts of gas leaks on our public health and environment.

Natural gas use has spiked in New England. It’s everywhere — in leaky old pipes under our streets, basements and kitchens.

But can we trust those who tell us it’s a clean, harmless fuel?
Not necessarily. Let’s learn why.

Panelists will discuss the harmful impacts that gas has
on the health of both citizens and the environment:

• Dr. Nathan Phillips, Acting Director, BU’s Sustainable Neighborhoods Lab
• Dr. Brita Lundberg, Mass. Medical Society, Environmental & Occupational Health Committee
• Karen Mauney-Brodek, President, Emerald Necklace Conservancy
• Edith Buhs (Moderator), Jamaica Plain Mothers Out Front

Co-sponsors: Mothers Out Front Jamaica Plain, State Representative Jeffrey Sánchez, Jamaica Plain Forum
