Vigil in Support of Black Lives Matter

April 7, 2022 @ 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm

The April Vigil in Support of Black Lives Matter will be held on Thursday evening, April 7, from 5:30-6:30 pm on the lawn of the First Baptist Church in Jamaica Plain, 633 Centre Street. Please join us as we welcome guest speaker Brenda Rodriguez-Andujar, Deputy Director of the Hyde Square Task Force, a JP organization working to amplify the power, creativity and voices of youth in creating a diverse, vibrant Latin Quarter and a more just, equitable Boston. Following her remarks, young people from the Hyde Square Task Force will lead a “call and response” reading of names of victims of racist violence, followed by a 20-minute stand-out along Centre Street in witness for racial justice and human rights and against white supremacy. Everyone is welcome.
