Workshop: Aluminum Casting

Aluminum sand casting involves packing the sand around an object, removing the object, pouring in molten metal, and cleaning up the final piece. Use this technique to make door/drawer pulls, a door knocker, trivet, or other decorative metal object for your home. Instructors from Stonybrook Fine Arts will guide you through the process. Participants should bring a simplistic one- or two-sided object to form the mold, or choose one of ours. Workshop will be held at Stonybrook Fine Arts, 24 Porter Street, Jamaica Plain.
