Workshop: Blacksmithing & Welding

Learn basic blacksmithing techniques, welding, tool use, and shop safety and make either a coat hook or candle holder to take home, at this workshop from Boston Building Resources and Stonybrook Fine Arts. Students use a torch to heat up and shape metal, then use welding techniques to attach the top and base of the candle holder. Required clothing: closed-toe leather shoes, non-frayed jeans, and a long-sleeve natural fiber shirt. Tie back long hair and bring an old cap or bandana.
