Yankee Garden Tour
April 26, 2016 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm
$28
We’ll begin the day with a tour of the beautiful garden at Old Farm in Wenham, designed by landscape architect Ellen Biddle Shipman in 1912. The Colonial Revival-style garden with rectangular garden beds and gravel walks is compatible with this old New England farmhouse, whose oldest parts date to 1659. The garden features daffodils, peonies, iris, phlox, and many native asters. After lunch we will tour Long Hill. The grounds boast 5 cultivated acres containing more than 500 species of plants, more than 100 acres of woodland, an apple orchard, meadows, a children's garden, and an organic farm. Bring a bag lunch.
