A new pizza joint in West Roxbury is running away with this year's "Deck the Windows" city contest for holiday decorating — and leaving JP's three entries in the dust. But that could change if JP residents get clicking in the Main Streets contest. Here's the link.
The 11th Annual Canine Costume Parade and Fashion Show, sponsored by the JP Business & Professional Assoc., Pet Cabaret and JP Centre/South Main Streets will be on Saturday, Oct. 25 at 1 p.m.
Registration and check-in is noon on Oct. 25 at First Baptist Church
(next to the Post Office). The parade goes from the church to the South Street Mall, where the fashion show takes place. Entry Fee is $10 with proceeds to the City of Boston Animal Shelter.
You may have noticed a big change to the building at the heart of the Centre/South district: Prudential Unlimited Realty is now Unlimited Sotheby's International Realty. The change became official Oct. 1. A new affiliation has been in the works since Prudential sold off its real estate arm more than three years ago. As those agreements expired, real estate companies had to shop for new affiliations.
The welcome rain should taper off before First Thursday Artwalk begins at 5 p.m. Thursday along Centre/South. More than 40 locations will be hosting art of some kind. This is the final Centre/South Main Streets Artwalk of the 2014 season. It runs through 9 p.m. Thursday. Here are a few highlights:
