First Thursday Fun: Scavenger Hunts and Screen on the Green

The warmer weather means there are a lot more enjoyable outdoor activities such as the First Thursday Scavenger Hunts and Screen on the Green movies. Participants in the Jamaica Plain Centre/South Main Street's First Thursday Scavenger Hunts can use StriveOn -- JP's Mobile App -- for the Scavenger Hunt, and throughout the year to find special deals, events, discounts, and more at local businesses and shops. Each Scavenger Hunt features treats and discounts for users who find the hidden locations. Upcoming dates and themes for the Scavenger Hunt are:

There will not be a First Thursday Scavenger Hunt in July due to Independence Day. This summer Jamaica Plain Centre/South Main Street's Screen on the Green will be at two rotating locations.

First Thursday: Enjoy Art (Beer & Wine Tastings) at Local Bizs + Screen on the Green

Soooo we got a little excited about Jamaica Plain's First Thursday last week -- so much that we said it was last Thursday -- the last Thursday in May. But we promise First Thursday is happening this Thursday! June's First Thursday will include the ArtWalk among South and Centre streets businesses, beer and wine tastings, a movie screening on the Loring-Greenough House's lawn, food trucks and more. Screen on the Green is a super kid-friendly event that takes place on the lawn of the Loring-Greenough House with a large outdoor screen, and is hosted by JP Centre/South Main Streets. This month's movie is "Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle," which starts 6:30 pm.

August First Thursday ArtWalk with a Beach Party

Celebrate summer with JP Centre/South Main Streets' Beach Party for First Thursday with live music, fun giveaways and more at several Centre Street businesses. There will be live music and more at JP Licks and JP Centre/South Main Streets will have a table set up there. Stop by and meet the new executive director for JP Centre/South Main Streets. Area businesses will also be hosting art exhibitions with food and drink.
